Swimming Classes
We help children to become confident individuals and successful learners by providing free swimming lessons. These promote health and well-being in early years. Our children have so much fun and love their outings to the pool each week!
Spanish Lessons
Our pre-school children are given the opportunity to explore another language through weekly Spanish lessons.
Community Outings
Our nursery enjoys great ties with our local community and we are often out and about visiting local sights and getting involved in events.

Nursery Teacher
We are lucky to have our own Nursery Teacher who works closely with our children and their key workers to ensure that children make good progress within all aspects of their development in readiness for school.
Christmas Shows
We celebrate Christmas by putting on a wonderful Christmas show for friends and family each year. There’s always much excitement in preparing for the show as we learn songs and organise our special dress ups.
Graduation
We celebrate the big move to primary school with a special graduation ceremony each year—caps, gowns, the works!

Nursery Uniform
We offer a nursery uniform for preschoolers, helping to make the weekday routine a little simpler for busy families.
Football Lessons
Football lessons give our little ones a chance to learn about teamwork, develop movement skills and have a good kick-around outdoors!
E-Learning Journals
E-Learning Journals allow you to see your child’s activities at nursery with the click of a button. Staff upload images and notes about your child's participation in activities at nursery for you to access wherever you are. Our nursery tablets offer exciting and stimulating learning experiences tailored to challenge and engage little ones.

Fundraising Activities
Taking part in fundraising activities helps children to learn about others that are less fortunate than themselves and understand how we can help them. Fundraising events are good fun and are a great way to get children, families and communities together. Our nursery is currently supporting Mary’s Meals.
Eco Schools
Eco Schools is the largest sustainable schools programme in the world and is designed to encourage action on sustainable development education issues. Our children love getting involved in their Eco Schools projects and learning about how to help protect the environment. We currently have our silver badge and are working towards the coveted Green Flag!
Settling In Sessions
Our nursery offers settling in sessions. Parents can bring their child for a couple of hours first, gradually introducing the child to a new environment. Settling in sessions are aimed at helping your child to adapt to their new surroundings, and become more familiar with the staff and other children.

Parent Communication
In recognition that education begins in the home, we are fully committed to a partnership approach with parents. Parents are kept up to date with monthly newsletters, parent focus groups and parent’s evenings twice a year. Parents are also able to keep up to date with activities going on in the nursery by following our social media accounts; Baillieston Facebook, Baillieston Twitter and Happitots Instagram.
Special Festivals
Our nursery encourages children to celebrate festivals throughout the year. This is one of the best ways for children to learn about different religions and cultures by celebrating various world religious festivals, food tasting from different countries, and dressing up in the national outfits of their friends.
